60th Anniversary of Fulbright scholarship programme in India

The Fulbright Program which includes the Fulbright-Hays Program is a program of grants for international educational exchange for scholars, educators, graduate students and professionals. This programme was founded by United States Senator J. William Fulbright and is one of the most prestigious awards programs worldwide. This programme is operating in over 155 countries and with 50 commissions.

This programme completes its 60 years in India. India is a full partner in the selection and award of scholarships, the scholarships are now called the "Fulbright - Jawaharlal Nehru Scholarships and Grants".

This also marks the 60th anniversary of the US-India Education Foundation in India (USIEF). India is soon going to enact a 'Foreign Education Providers Bill' for the purpose of allowing foreign educational institutions in the country.
