3rd December: International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Every year International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) is being observed on 3 December to promote an understanding of disability issues.

Background: In 1992, United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) had passed a resolution 47/3 for annually observing 3rd December as International Day of Disabled Persons. It was originally called as International Day of Disabled Persons.
