Mumbai wins Buchi Babu Memorial Trophy of Cricket

Mumbai has won the Buchi Babu Memorial Trophy in the All India invitation cricket tournament.

In the final match played at Chennai, they defeated Tamil Nadu Cricket Association Districts (TNCA) XI team by six wickets.

Mumbai in the chase had scored 166 runs for four in 45.2 overs against TNCA XI team which had made 163 all out in 74 overs.

Mumbai’s Herwadkar (108 runs) and Tare (53 runs) helped them to be victorious. Mumbai’s Surya Kumar Yadav was adjudged as the Man of the Series.

Buchi Babu Memorial Trophy: The memorial trophy has been named after Mothavarapu Buchi Babu Naidu (1868–1908) who is considered as father of South Indian cricket. It is an annual cricket tournament.
