Bhanu Athaiya returns Oscar trophy to Academy to preserve it

imageBhanu Athaiya, the costume designer who won the first Oscar for India at the 55th Annual Academy Awards in 1983 for her work in Lord Richard Attenborough‘s ‘Gandhi’, has decided to return the statuette to the Academy Motion Pictures as she feels that it will be safe and preserved there.
