In western countries most of these drugs are prescription drugs where chemical castration is used as a punishment or treatment for hypersexuality. However, India, which is considering castration as an effective form of punishment for sexual crimes, lacks proper regulation and monitoring of these drugs which can spoil the purpose of the castration.
