FM transmitters to be set up in Sashastra Seema Bal premises
Government of India has approved seven projects for setting up of FM transmitters in premises of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) for strengthening FM coverage along Indo-Nepal border. The information in this regard was presented by Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar to Lok Sabha.
The FM transmitter project would be installed in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Uttarakhand, precisely for:
- Bihar- Bathnaha (Araria), Narkatiaganj (West Champaran) and Sitamarhi
- Uttar Pradesh- Gadaniya (Lakhimpur Kheri), Nanpara (Bahraich) and Maharajganj
- Uttarakhand- Champawat
About Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)
It is one of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) in India and is currently under administrative control of Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Prior to 2001, SSB was known as Special Service Bureau (SSB).
