Foreign Envoys from Gulf and EU visit Jammu and Kashmir for the second time
On February 13, 2020, foreign envoys from Gulf countries and European Union visited Jammu and Kashmir for the second time after Abrogation of Article 370.
The delegation met secretary level officers of Government of India and other senior officers of Jammu and Kashmir. They also visited business women, traders, entrepreneurs in Jammu and Kashmir. It includes envoys from Canada, Germany, France, Mexico, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Italy, Austria, Poland and Uzbekistan.
The Diplomats from 25 countries rode a boat on Dal lake.
Recently, the union ministers visited the valley and submitted their reports about the situation at the Prime Minister Office.
India is arranging for such foreign visits in order to demonstrate the outside world about the measures being taken to restore normalcy in the valley. During the first visits of the foreign delegates from European Union, concerns were raised over internet shutdown. However, today, such issues have been addressed. Kashmir is being provided with 2G speed internet by the GoI partially.
Internet shut down is a way to disrupt militant activities in the region.
