GoI partners with UNICEF to achieve Atma Nirbhar Bharat

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports have partnered with UNICEF to strengthen the youth volunteers in the country to achieve Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.  That is, India is to become self-reliant through such measures.


The GoI has signed a statement with YuWaah of UNICEF. It is a multi-stake holder platform formed by UNICEF.

The partnership is to work on the following

  • Collaboration on supporting young people in entrepreneurship
  • Upskilling young people
  • Promoting change making
  • Creating linkages with aspirational socio-economic opportunities
  • To provide career guidance support to young people
  • To establish a feedback mechanism between young people and policy stakeholders.

The partnership will provide great platform to Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and NSS volunteers.


The YuWaah initiative was launched by UNICEF in India in November 2019. The initiative promotes access to foundational and 21st century skills for youth inside and outside formal education system. This includes life skills, foundational skills, flexible learning and scaling impactful delivery models.
