Indo-Italian Business Mission on Food Processing inaugurated

On July 15, 2020, the Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal inaugurated the Digital Indo-Italian Business mission on Food Processing.


The event is to be held for two days. During the event, trade fairs, digital conferences and back to back meetings are to be conducted. Around 23 Italian companies are to exhibit their products and services.


The Mission will focus on key areas such as fruits and vegetables, milk, cereals, dairy processing, bottling and packaging.

India’s plans ahead

India is to invest in mega food parks and agricultural export zones in the future. Also, GoI will link these parks with Industrial estates, industrial parks and clusters in the country.

India is now trying to become self sufficient in every industry through Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.

Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan

Under the scheme, Rs 10,000 crore was allocated to Formalisation of Micro Food Enterprises. This will promote “Vocal for Local” with a global outreach. India is to provide technical upgradation to its Micro Food Enterprises.

The fund allocated will support micro food enterprises, self help groups, farmer producer organizations and cooperatives.
