1st batch of Boeing AH-64E Apache helicopters reaches India

1st batch of Boeing AH-64E Apache Guardian Attack helicopters arrived at Indian Air Force’s (IAF’s) Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The 1st batch consists of 4 out of 22 choppers ordered by India from United States.

In coming week 4 more Apaches will be arriving and thereafter, 8 will be moved to Pathankot Air Force Station for their formal induction in IAF in September 2019.

About AH-64E Apache

It is the world’s most advanced Multi-Role Combat Helicopter. It is used by US Army as well as by growing number of international defence forces.

Since the aircraft entered production Boeing has delivered over 2,200 Apaches to customers around the world so far. India is 14th nation to select Apache.

Features: Besides greater thrust and lift, joint digital operability, cognitive decision aiding and improved survivability AH-64E Apache is uniquely suited to meet commander’s needs such as security, reconnaissance, peacekeeping operations as well as lethal attack in both land and littoral environments all without reconfiguration.

It is most modern variant of Apache and is also flown by U. S. Army.

It has latest technology insertions that maintain its standing as world’s best attack helicopter.

It is only available combat helicopter with a spectrum of capabilities for virtually any mission requirement.

5th Dharma-Dhamma conference being held in Rajgir, Bihar

5th International Dharma-Dhamma conference is being held Rajgir International Convention Centre in Rajgir, Bihar from 27-28 July 2019. The conference was inaugurated Union Minister of State Kiren Rijiju who is also the Chief Guest of Conference. It is being hosted by Rajgir for 2nd time.

About 5th International Dharma-Dhamma conference

Objective: To address people about terror, violence and global warming prevalent in world. The 2-day conference also addresses subjects of Sat-Chit-Ananda and Nirvana Dharma-Dhamma Tradition which are pivotal topics of Buddhism.

Organised by: Nalanda University (NU) in collaboration with New Delhi’s Centre for Study of Religion and Society-India Foundation (CSRS-IF).

Participants: Almost 250 scholars and delegates from over 15 countries are participating in Conference.

Guest of Honour: Sri Lanka’s Home Minister Gamini Jaiwickrama Perera, Bhutan’s Home and Culture Minister Lyonpo Sherub Gyeltshen and Juna Akhada’s Awadheshananda Giri Ji Maharaj.

Significance:

Dharma-Dhamma conference being hosted by India benefit international community as well and also act as a platform for Hindu and Buddhist thinkers to express their views. It will help strengthen ties with other Asian countries.
