Deepika Kumari wins bronze at Antalya Archery World Cup

Ace Indian archer Deepika Kumari has clinched the bronze medal in the women’s individual Women’s Recurve event at Antalya Archery World Cup held in Turkey.

To win bronze medal Deepika outclassed Chang Hye Jin of South Korea in straight sets 6-2 (26-25, 29-26, 26-28, 28-27).

She was the only Indian who made it to the last four in the in individual women’s recurve competition as veteran Dola Banerjee, Satbir Kaur and Snehal Divakar all lost in the first round.

In the Antalya 2015 recurve women’s event Misun Choi and Bo Bae Ki from South Korea won gold and silver medal respectively.

Dilwar Singh of Haryana wins Pedal for Kashmir cycling race

Dilawar Singh of Haryana has won ‘Pedal for Kashmir’ cycling competition, held along the banks of picturesque Dal Lake in Srinagar.

During this cycling, Singh pipped local champion Mohammad Akbar Khan who came runner up, followed by another local cyclist Mohammad Adil Teli.

While in the under-19 category of the competition for Boys, Mohit Kumar won the first prize. Wahid Ahmad Ganie was placed second, while Amir Sadiq Gojriin finished third.

In the girls under-19 category, Komal Deshmuk from Maharashtra, beat local girl Bushra Ali to the first position. State Minister for Public Works Altaf Bukhari gave away the prizes to the winners.

This edition of Pedal for Kashmir cycling competition was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police (JKAP). In this event around 2000 cyclists, including those of national and international repute had participated.
