Sonu Nigam wins Award at 21st Century Icon Awards, UK

Popular Bollywood playback singer Sonu Nigam has been honoured with ‘Magnificent Performing Arts Award’ at the 21st Century Icon Awards in London, United Kingdom (UK).

Key Highlights

He was among a host of winners across a range of categories at a gala awards ceremony held in UK. The ceremony was devised as a celebration of dynamic entrepreneurs and successful individuals chosen from hundreds of nominations from all across the world.

The nominations for the annual award were from 22 different countries.

About 21st Century Icon Awards

These annual awards are the brainchild of UK-based Indian-origin entrepreneurs Preeti Rana and Tarun Ghulati, co-founders of Squared Watermelon Ltd.

The 2019 edition of awards attracted more than 700 nominations which were narrowed down to 44 finalists.

Judges panel included personalities from varied fields, such as-

  • Sandip Verma: British Indian peer Baroness
  • Ibukun Adebayo from London Stock Exchange’s International Markets Unit
  • Denise Lewis: former British Olympic champion

The judges met in August 2019 to decide on the final 18 winners.

Madhukar Kamath elected chairman of Audit Bureau of Circulations

Madhukar Kamath, chairman emeritus of advertising firm DDB Mudra group, has been elected as chairman of Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) for year 2019-2020. He has more than 4 decades of experience in advertising and marketing services.

About Madhukar Kamath

He has also been president of Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) chairman of The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) and chairman of Mudra Foundation. He has been on the board of the industry body, which certifies circulation figures of its member publications. He also helped Omnicom acquire Mudra Group and integrate it into DDB Worldwide Network. He has served as chairman and mentor of brand consultancy Interbrand and has led several industry bodies.

About Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) of India

It is a not for profit circulation-auditing organisation. It is responsible for certifying and auditing the circulations of major publications, primarily of newspapers and magazines in India. It is a voluntary organisation, founded in 1948. It is private entity operating in different parts of the world. ABC’s services such as certificates of circulation are being availed by advertisers, publishers, advertising agencies and organisations connected with print media advertising.
