National Florence Nightingale Awards 2019

The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind presented the National Florence Nightingale Awards 2019 to 36 nursing professionals on the occasion of International Nurses Day on Thursday, 5th December 2019 in New Delhi.

The Government of India instituted the National Florence Nightingale awards in the year 1973. The award is been named after the founder of modern nursing Florence Nightingale.

To mark the 200th birth anniversary year of Florence Nightingale, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has announced the year 2020 as the Year of the Nurse and Mid-Wife.

The award is given as a mark of recognition for the meritorious service rendered by the nursing professionals in India.
