The uniform standards for metro rail systems across the country are aimed at cutting costs in construction and operation of metro rail systems in the country. It will aid in manufacturing of various components of metro rail systems domestically, giving boost to government’s Make in India policy. It will bring India to international standard, where every metro has same standards, same signaling system and track gauge, etc.
