Ponting declares retirement from Test cricket

Former captain of Australian cricket team, Ricky Ponting  has announced retirement from Test cricket. His retirement has come after South Africa defeated Australia in the third test match in Perth to win the series.

  • Matches: 168 (equaled Steve Waugh’s mark of 168 Test matches – the most in the history of Australian cricket.)
  • Runs: 13,366
  • Centuries: 41 (Second highest after Sachin Tendulkar)
  • Batting Avg: 51.85
