Sai Praneeth wins Thailand Grand Prix Gold Title

Ace Indian Shuttler B Sai Praneeth has clinched Thailand Grand Prix Gold title by defeating Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie 17-21, 21-18, 21-19  in Bangkok.

Six weeks earlier, he had defeated the world No 29 Kidambi Srikanth and clinched Singapore Open Superseries badminton title. Last year, Sai Praneeth had clinched the Canada Open Grand Prix. He had also reached the finals of Syed Modi Grand Prix Gold in Lucknow before winning his Singapore title.

Thailand Open Grand Prix Gold was held at Nimibutr Stadium In Bangkok in Thailand between 30 May – 4 June 2017 and had a total purse of $120,000.
