On April 14, 2020, India celebrated the 129th birth anniversary of Bhimarao Ramji Ambedkar. Amidst the lock down, his birth anniversary is being celebrated digitally by the whole of India. The Indian Constitution was prepared under the leadership of Ambedkar.
Ambedkar was born in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. It was a small cantonment in Indore district. The town was later renamed as Dr Ambedkar Nagar in 2003. He was born as Hindu and later converted into a Buddhist. He was recognised as modern Buddha of his age.
He was a great scholar who could speak Pali, Hindi, Sanskrit, French, English, Marathi, German, Gujarati and Persian.
Ambedkar was the last and 14thChild to his parents.
He has won several awards namely Bodhisattva in 1956, Bharat Ratna in 1990. He was also awarded The Greatest Indian award in 2012. When the Tri-coloured Indian flag was created, it was Ambedkar who placed the Ashok Chakra in the middle.

Every year, March 8th is marked as International Women’s Day. It was first proposed by the Socialist Party of America in 1909. However, it was pertained to New York City. The first International Women’s Day was marked first in 1909.

The United Nations began celebrating Women’s Day in 1975.
Women’s Day in India
For the first time in Indian history, women visiting monuments under Archaeological Survey of India are to be provided with free pass. This is being done to signify Indian Culture’s respect for women. Women are being worshipped as goddess in Indian Culture.
PM Modi is to provide access to his social media account on IWD to inspiring women. The GoI has also initiated serious of actions including telecasting 14 women-oriented films, commemorating women members of constituent assembly, etc.
