Cabinet approves MoU between SEBI and FSC
The Union Cabinet approved signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and Financial Services Commission (FSC), Gibraltar for mutual co-operation and technical assistance. It aims at creating conditions for an effective development of securities markets in the two countries and promote development of economic links and cooperation between two regulators. It will also help to contribute towards strengthening information sharing framework between two signatories. It is expected to add value to overseas mutual cooperation and regulation activities of SEBI and FSC, Gibraltar.

The Union Cabinet approved signing of MoU by Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) with Capital Markets Authority (CMA), Kuwait for mutual co-operation and technical assistance. The MoU will promote further development of economic links and cooperation between the two regulators. It also aims at creating conditions for an effective development of securities markets in the two countries. It is expected to add value to overseas mutual cooperation and regulation activities of SEBI and CMA, Kuwait.
IIT-Kharagpur inks MoU with Samsung India
IIT-Kharagpur has signed MoU with Samsung India for setting up of a digital academy on the institute’s campus. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the institute will host the Samsung Innovation Lab and train students on the Internet of Things (IoT) through Tizen-based operating systems, commonly used by the company for its mobile phones and home appliances. The academy is part of Samsung’s corporate social initiative that aims at bridging digital divide by imparting skills to students on cutting-edge technology, Through this partnership with IIT-KGP, the academy planned to train over 100 students in the next three years. The course will be taught over 14 weeks through classroom lectures, assignments, lab room sessions, self-study and mini projects.
3rd International Conference on Yoga held in New Delhi
The 3rd International Conference on Yoga was held in New Delhi with theme “Yoga for Wellness”. The 2-day conference was organized by Ministry of AYUSH as part of yearlong events organized to celebrate 21st June as International Day of Yoga. The conference held seven technical sessions and panel discussion on different aspects of Yoga and Wellness including recent research trends, Integrated medicine, non-communicable diseases, mental health, women health, cancer, pain management and policy making. Around 500 delegates, including those from 44 countries attended the conference. It provided common platform for AYUSH and allopathy practitioners, researchers, academicians, and policy makers and students.
10 October: World Mental Health Day
The World Mental Health Day (WMHD) is observed every year on 10 Octoberto raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. The theme for year 2017 was “Mental health in the workplace’. It aims to provides opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide.
Amul named India’s best FMCG Company in food sector
The Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF), which markets Amul brand of milk and milk products was recognised as India’s best Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Company in food sector by International Advertising Association (IAA). For this recognition, Amul was presented 5th IAA Leadership Award. The prestigious awards instituted by IAA’s India Chapter recognise excellence towards contribution in marketing, advertising and media sectors as well as celebrate outstanding achievements of individuals and teams.
