Observance of this day, emphasizes need to focus world’s attention on role that sustainable gastronomy can play, owing to its inter-linkages with three dimensions of sustainable development in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by promoting agricultural development, food security, nutrition, sustainable food production and conservation of biodiversity.
