Lucknow-based school enters Guinness Book of World Records 

Lucknow-based City Montessori School (CMS) has won the Guinness World Record for becoming the ‘world’s largest school’ in terms of strength of students.

City Montessori School (CMS) has won the global award for having largest number of students in 2019-20. At present, the CMS has 18 branches and approximately 56,000 students all over the city.

About City Montessori School (CMS)

It is a co-educational English medium private school that offers education from Pre-school up to Grade 12 level in Lucknow. It is affiliated to Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE).

In 2014 CMS society was accredited with United Nations Department of Public Information as affiliated NGO. In 2002 CMS was awarded UNESCO Prize for Peace Education. The school has also received ‘Hope of Humanity’ Award from spiritual leader, Dalai Lama.

Vastradan Campaign Sets Guinness World Record

Vastradan Campaign initiated by the erstwhile royal family of Udaipur has set the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of clothes for donation. The campaign had collected more than 3 lakh items of clothing.

  • Through the Vastradan Campaign, over 3,29,250 pieces of clothing from over 76,000 donors were collected and distributed to the needy.
  • The campaign reached out to over 120 schools, 15 colleges and around 30 NGOs.

The certificate for the Guinness World Record was handed over to Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, a descendant of Rajput ruler Maharana Pratap. The campaign was started as an innovative exercise in giving by reaching out to the citizens rather organizations. The campaign highlighted the empathy of the citizen’s especially young boys and girls.
