Pakistan has handed over the operations responsibility of its strategically located Gwadar port to China’s Overseas Port Holdings. Previously it was with Singapore’s PSA (Port of Singapore Authority) International.
Why the port offered to China?
There occurred some discords b/w the PSA International and Pakistani navy over land transfers, security issues and lack of infrastructure which led to PSA withdrawal from the contract.

The commanders of the armies of Indian and Pakistan held a flag meeting at Chakan da Bagh in Poonch district along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir. The meet was held in the backdrop of ongoing tension b/w the armies of both sides. The tension had escalated after Pakistani soldiers brutally killed two Indian soldiers. Both sides accused other of violating the ceasefire. The Indian Army voiced concern at the violation of the ceasefire by Pakistani troops and the mutilation of the bodies of two soldiers killed in Pakistani firing and one of the bodies was beheaded. The Indian Army also asked for the severed head to be returned.

Chakan da Bagh is a crossing point located in Poonch district along the LoC in Kashmir.
