India-Saudi Arabia Relations
- From trading point of view, oil rich Saudi Arabia is a crucial and important country for energy starved India from energy security (especially petroleum) perspective.
- Saudi Arabia is India’s largest supplier of crude oil and accounts for 80 per cent of India’s crude oil import that forms a major component of bilateral trade with the Gulf nation.
- It should be noted that Saudi Arabia is followed by Iraq, Nigeria, Venezuela and Iran as India’s top four oil suppliers.
