Sarthi Sandesh Vahini

The Sarthi Sandesh Vahini vehicles were flagged off by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The Uttar Pradesh state family welfare department has initiated the Sarthi Sandesh Vahini mission to spread awareness regarding family planning in urban and rural areas. The Sarthi Sandesh Vahini vehicles will provide family planning information to the viewers through various documentaries and films.

To ensure the objectives of the mission are accomplished the Uttar Pradesh government will appoint the nodal officers to supervise the campaign and ensure that several targets set by the department including women and child development and education for all are being fulfilled.

Tackling Encephalitis

The Uttar Pradesh government has also launched the new initiative to eradicate encephalitis.

Encephalitis

Encephalitis is an uncommon but serious condition in which the brain becomes inflamed (swollen). Encephalitis can be life-threatening and requires urgent treatment in hospital. The very young and very old are most at risk of Encephalitis.

The mission aims to spread awareness about the disease and provide medical assistance to the needy.

World’s longest expressway to come up in Uttar Pradesh

The government of Uttar Pradesh has approved the construction of the Ganga Expressway. The government has said that it would be the longest expressway in the world. The expressway will provide for better connectivity of the Prayagraj (Allahabad) to Western Pradesh.

Expressways are the highest class of roads in the road network in India. National Expressways Authority of India under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is responsible for the construction and maintenance of expressways.

Expressways are controlled-access highway, the highest-grade type of highway with access ramps, lane dividers, etc., for high-speed traffic.

This 600km Ganga Expressway would be constructed at an approximate cost of Rs 36,000 crores over 6,556 hectares of land. The expressway starting from Meerut will pass through Amroha, Bulandshahr, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Farrukhabad, Hardoi, Kannauj, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh before reaching Prayagraj.
