Union Government releases Commemorative Stamp on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar
The Department of Posts has released a Commemorative postal stamp on father of Indian Constitution Dr. B.R. Ambedkar as part of his 125th Birth Anniversary celebrations.
It was released jointly by the Union Minister Social Justice & Empowerment Thaawar Chand Gehlot and Union Minister for Communication & Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad.
125th Birth Anniversary celebrations of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar
- The yearlong celebrations aim to make the world aware about the life and the work of Dr. Babasaheb Ambekdar who is often considered as a champion of the underprivileged.
- The decision in this regard was taken in July 2015 by Prime Minister chaired meeting of the National Committee on Nationwide Celebration of 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
- To mark the yearlong celebrations, Union Government is going to organize number of programmes and various activities.
It should be noted of Dr. Babasaheb Ambekdar is chief architect of Indian constitution and was bestowed with Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award in 1990.
